COMPREHENSIVE MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE
36 CEUS, 6 DAYS, 6 HOURS PER DAY
(Satisfies 2 Biennial cycles of NJ and 1 Triennial cycle of NY continuing education)
MLD targets the lymph system, which is responsible for the collection and removal of toxins and debris from the body. If this system is compromised, it can result in swelling, discomfort, or a lowered immune response. The technique is very light and relaxing, yet its focus is to stimulate the lymph flow and find alternate routes in the event of fluid retention or blockage. This bodywork is good for: pre-surgery lymph stimulation, post-surgery for quicker healing, swelling caused by medical conditions, as an immune booster or overall general relaxation.
This course covers: History of MLD, concepts of edema and lymphedema, anatomy and physiology of the Lymphatic system, the body’s immune response, indications and contraindications for MLD work, discussion of the entire massage session, including record keeping, and discussion of using MLD with other techniques. Students will practice techniques, and build a booklet of massage routines.
A limit of 10 students per class to ensure optimal hands-on interaction with the instructor.
Each day is 6 hours, from 10am - 4pm
Materials needed:Sheets and face cradle cover, bath size towel, note taking materials.
*Note: This course is designed as a full 36 CE hour class. One certificate is issued at the end of the course. If there is an absence, you will need to arrange a make-up with the instructor.
